Climate-Connect Initiative — formerly Climate Change Network Nigeria (CCN-Nigeria) — is a national, non-profit coalition of over 150 civil society organizations working across Nigeria. We are committed to building a climate-friendly, sustainable Nigeria through multi-sectoral partnerships and collective action.
We are a proud member of Climate Action Network (CAN) International and its West African arm, CANWA. Our work is guided by a simple belief: people and nature can thrive together. Through education, advocacy, and community outreach, we are working to make that future a reality.
Our Vision
A nature-friendly, post-carbon society that cares for people and the planet
Our Mission
Mobilizing, educating, and empowering stakeholders to drive effective climate solutions and sustainable development
What We Do
Our work spans three core areas — because tackling climate change requires more than one approach.
Education & Outreach
We organize events, distribute plain-language resources, and work directly with communities to build awareness about climate change and what communities can do about it.
Policy & Advocacy
We engage policymakers, advocate for stronger climate legislation, and push for a just transition to renewable energy — including the adoption of best practices for adaptation.
Research & Innovation
We conduct research on climate mitigation and adaptation, fund innovative technologies, and support start-ups building renewable energy solutions.
Our Core Values
We are committed to protecting the environment and promoting practices that ensure long-term ecological balance for future generations.
We believe in the power of partnerships, working with communities, organizations, and stakeholders to achieve shared climate goals.
We actively engage in influencing policies and raising awareness to drive meaningful climate action at all levels.
We support creative solutions and technologies that address climate challenges and promote sustainable development.
We ensure that all voices are heard, especially youth and vulnerable communities, in shaping climate solutions.
We empower people with knowledge and tools to understand climate change and take informed action.
We uphold transparency and responsibility in all our actions, ensuring measurable impact and trust.
